Kitano Tenmangu Shrine
The head shrine of Tenmangu shrines dedicated to Sugawara no Michizane, known as the god of learning. Famous for its national treasure buildings and seasonal plum and maple trees.

Kamigamo Shrine
Kamigamo Shrine is one of the oldest shrines in Kyoto and is registered as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It enshrines Kamowakeikazuchi-no-mikoto and is famous for the Aoi Festival. The shrine features important cultural properties and beautiful gardens.

Yushima Tenmangu
Yushima Tenmangu (Yushima Tenjin) is said to have been founded in 458 AD by imperial command of Emperor Yuryaku. In 1355, it was merged with a shrine dedicated to Sugawara no Michizane and became widely known as the god of learning.

Saiin Kasuga Shrine
Saiin Kasuga Shrine is located in Ukyo-ku, Kyoto City, Kyoto Prefecture. It was founded in 833 (Tencho 10) when Emperor Junnin of Japan enshrined deities from Kasuga Taisha in Nara by imperial command. During the Heian period, it was revered by the Imperial family and has been worshipped as a guardian for health and disaster prevention. Today, it continues to serve imperial prayers and is believed to have benefits for healing illnesses and warding off evil.

Reikoden Tenmangu
Reiko-den Tenmangu Shrine is said to have been founded in 1018 during the Heian period. It enshrines Sugawara no Michizane and Tokugawa Ieyasu. It settled at its current location in 1761.
